** Brookhaven Adopts New Tree Ordinance
------------------------------------------------------------

I am pleased to share that after many months of study and public input from the Brookhaven Tree Ordinance Rewrite effort, Brookhaven City Council has adopted a new tree ordinance with the goal of improved management and preservation of our valuable tree canopy.

Key features include revised regulations related to minimum tree density and tree protection during construction, as well as a requirement for public posting of a sign 5 days before tree removal and marking of trees to be removed.

...the City of Brookhaven has an innovative tree and plant nursery to grow and preserve area trees?

...the City of Brookhaven has a tree rescue program to save and replant many trees removed by necessity during construction projects?

...the City of Brookhaven has a Memorial Tree Program that allows citizens to have a tree planted with a memorial marker in city parks?

** Park Bond Project Status

** Thank you, Cambridge Park!
------------------------------------------------------------

Many thanks to Cambridge Park Civic Association and President Dan Vollner for once again inviting me to the Annual Dinner Meeting to provide a district update and answer resident questions. If you would like me to do the same in your neighborhood, just email me at linley.jones@brookhavenga.gov (mailto:linley.jones@brookhavenga.gov?subject=Neighborhood%20News%20feedback) .

** Intersection Improvement Status
------------------------------------------------------------

The intersection of Ashford Dunwoody Road and Peachtree Road remains under construction that will result in a dedicated right-hand turn lane from Ashford Dunwoody southbound. That will mean no more waiting at the green light because of the "No Right Turn" sign. In fact, there will be no more waiting at all, as you can safely drive directly through a protected right turn at all times!

Citizens are encouraged to participate in Brookhaven Police Department's "Operation Plugged In," a police/community partnership with homeowners, neighborhoods and business owners who own video security systems.

This program lets officers know where cameras are active in the city in case a crime occurs. It is not used for active surveillance, and officers will not have direct access to homeowners' cameras. Those who register a camera will be contacted if a crime occurs in the vicinity of that camera.

Information provided by residents and businesses will be maintained in a secure database.

Participants will be provided with a small sticker for those wishing to place it on their property to help deter crime.

Brookhaven Police Department encourages residents to register their cameras online HERE (https://linleyforbrookhaven.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8bd430f5bced1a88a8f205305&id=04562a4039&e=b543e45257) .
