Festival-goers also enjoyed returning favorites like the Splash Artist Market, Classic Car Show, Pet World, Kidz Zone and food trucks. The Brookhaven City Hall will be located at the corner of Peachtree Road and North Druid Hills Road on the existing long-term MARTA parking lot. Click here for more information. Hermance Drive closed Wednesday, April 5 for repairs The contractor for the DeKalb Department of Watershed Management will close Hermance Drive between Windsor Pkwy and Club Drive for repairs to the road. Motorists should use Woodrow Way and Osborne Rd. as alternate routes during the road closure which will be on next Wednesday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Lynwood Park Rec Center closed Saturday, April 1 until 2 p.m. The Lynwood Park Recreation Center will have a delayed opening on Saturday, April 1. The Recreation Center will open at 2 p.m. to accommodate several Easter Egg Hunt events at Blackburn Park beginning at 10 a.m. (see flyer below) Front Yard Tree Program takes root in Brookhaven Back by popular demand, Brookhaven is once again partnering with Trees Atlanta to sponsor the Front Yard Tree Program. In this partnership, Trees Atlanta will plant up to 80 trees. Homeowners can choose one of five varieties of White oak, Overcup oak, Willow oak, River Birch and Sycamore, all between six and eight feet in height. Trees Atlanta will plant the tree and provide the initial mulching and watering and include a two-year replacement guarantee. Beginning immediately, residents can apply at www.treesatlanta.org/yardtree and select “Brookhaven,” while quantities last. Continuing last year’s promotion, there is no application fee for Brookhaven residents. More info here. Detours will be in place. Emergency Bridge/Road Closure on W. Nancy Creek Drive The bridge near 1243 W. Nancy Creek Drive in Brookhaven is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic due to severe structural issues and has been demolished. Click here for updates on construction of the new bridge.
