Brookhaven News, Updates and Resources The Brookhaven Blast Brookhaven News, Updates and Resources CITY OF BROOKHAVEN NEWS New pedestrian crosswalk lights improve safety The Brookhaven Public Works department has completed improvements on two crucial pedestrian crosswalks on Ashford Dunwoody road. The improvements include installing LED lighting at the crosswalk signs and markers/lights in the pavement that will make the crossing more visible to drivers when the lights are activated by the pedestrian button. The improvements were made at Ashford Dunwoody Road at Kadleston Way and Ashford Dunwoody Road at Cambridge Square, across from Blackburn Park. “These new lights and markers give drivers advance notice of these pedestrian crosswalks, and that gives walkers an extra measure of safety crossing Ashford Dunwoody Road,” said Mayor Pro Tempore Linley Jones. Brookhaven leveraged Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) funding from the GDOT to minimize the cost of the project. ‘Mondays With Madeleine’ virtual town hall to feature Urban Redevelopment Authority discussion The public is invited to join District 3 Councilwoman Madeleine Simmons for the January 2022 edition of her “Mondays With Madeleine” town hall.
