Brookhaven News, Updates and Resources The Brookhaven Blast Brookhaven News, Updates and Resources CITY OF BROOKHAVEN NEWS Band of Horses, HANSON to headline 2023 Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival The City of Brookhaven announces Band of Horses and HANSON as the concert headliners for the 2023 Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival, taking place Saturday and Sunday, March 25-26, at Blackburn Park, 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road in Brookhaven. Admission is free. Band of Horses is the Saturday, March 25, headliner, while HANSON headlines on Sunday, March 26. Also taking the stage Saturday are Don McLean and Deep Blue Something, while The Fray, offering a special acoustic performance, and Lissie take the stage on Sunday. Full story here. Brookhaven selects Major Jerry Lewis to become Brookhaven’s next Deputy Chief of Police The City of Brookhaven has selected DeKalb County Police Major Jerry A. Lewis Jr. as the City’s Deputy Chief of Police effective Jan. 30. Major Lewis is retiring from DeKalb County after an exemplary 28-year career in law enforcement. In his career with the DeKalb County Police Department, Lewis served a diverse community in a department of 700 sworn officers. His experience includes working in leadership positions in the Uniform Division, the Criminal Investigation Division, Office of the Chief of Police, and the Office of the Department of Public Safety. Photo courtesy City of Atlanta Brookhaven seeks public input on City Hall design The City of Brookhaven is seeking public input on the look of its future City Hall. Residents are encouraged to take part in a survey to gauge their visual design preferences. The survey asks questions about residents’ architectural and artistic preferences, as well as preferred dining options and how an open public space should be utilized, among other items. Public input will be integrated into a final document that will offer inspiration and guidance to the Brookhaven City Council on the building’s ultimate design. The survey will be open through the end of January. More information here. ROAD CLOSURES & TRAFFIC ALERTS Ashford Dunwoody/Peachtree lane closure The right turn lane on Ashford Dunwoody Road onto Peachtree Road southbound will be closed through mid to late February due to road construction along that corridor. The existing Ashford Dunwoody left turn lane onto Peachtree will remain open and serve as both the left and right turn lane. Expect delays and use alternate routes if possible.
