Brookhaven News, Updates and Resources  The Brookhaven Blast Brookhaven News, Updates and Resources CITY OF BROOKHAVEN NEWS Briarwood Park pool, Ashford Park splash pad open this Saturday Keep cool this summer at one of the City of Brookhaven’s municipal pools or splash pad. On Saturday, May 27, at 10 a.m., the pool at: Briarwood Park, 2235 Briarwood Way NE. will open for the summer. At the same time, the splash pad located at Ashford Park, 2980 Redding Road, will be open and ready for fun. Coming soon: Watch this space for an announcement regarding the opening of the pool at Murphey Candler Park, and the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the Lynwood Park pool and splash pad in the near future. Langford Park grand opening and ribbon cutting set for May 31 The public is invited to Langford Park, 1174 Pine Grove Ave., on May 31 at 5 p.m. for a celebration to commemorate the official opening of Brookhaven’s newest park and greenspace. “We have added a new playground, Bocce Ball court, sheltered pavilion, and walking trails that accentuate the natural green space areas where families can enjoy these neighborhood amenities,” said District 3 Councilmember Madeleine Simmons. “It is also fitting that just after Memorial Day, we honor the service of the veteran that this park is named for.” More information here. To have a copy mailed to your home, email News@BrookhavenGa.gov Brookhaven joins forces with Leadership Perimeter The City of Brookhaven has partnered with Leadership Perimeter to develop and inspire leaders to serve their communities for a lifetime. Applications for the Class of 2024 are now being accepted. The City of Brookhaven will initially provide tuition for five Brookhaven residents to participate in the 2024 Class of Leadership Perimeter.  More information here. Front Yard Tree Program takes root in Brookhaven Back by popular demand, Brookhaven is once again partnering with Trees Atlanta to sponsor the Front Yard Tree Program.  In this partnership, Trees Atlanta will plant up to 80 trees. Homeowners can choose one of five varieties of White oak, Overcup oak, Willow oak, River Birch and Sycamore, all between six and eight feet in height. Trees Atlanta will plant the tree and provide the initial mulching and watering and include a two-year replacement guarantee. Beginning immediately, residents can apply at www.treesatlanta.org/yardtree and select “Brookhaven,” while quantities last. Continuing last year’s promotion, there is no application fee for Brookhaven residents.  More info here. Future Brookhaven City Hall project information The future Brookhaven City Hall will be a gathering space for conducting the people’s business, to celebrate as a community, exchange ideas, and serve as a focal point and NorthStar for the City of Brookhaven within the Atlanta metropolitan area. The Brookhaven City Hall will be located at the corner of Peachtree Road and North Druid Hills Road on the existing long-term MARTA parking lot. Click here for more information. Coosawattee Drive road closure May 30-June 23 A storm sewer repair at/near 2395/2396 Coosawattee Drive will require a road closure starting Tuesday, May 30, through Friday, June 23, 2023 (weather permitting).
