Decorative Crosswalk Pilot Program RFQ now open The City of Brookhaven, in collaboration with the Arts and Culture Commission and Lynwood Park Civic Association, has released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to identify qualified artist(s) to create an innovative crosswalk design to be installed at the newly constructed roundabout located at the intersection of Windsor Parkway and Osborne Road in Lynwood Park. Details of the RFQ, including how to submit qualifications and the selection process are available using this QR code:   Interested artists have until 4 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, to submit their qualifications. Public Review City of Brookhaven 2022 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report  The City of Brookhaven will post the 2022 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Consolidated Annual Performance & Evaluation Report (CAPER) at https://www.brookhavenga.gov/commdev/page/community-development-block-grant-program Aug. 31. The CAPER provides annual information on program accomplishments in meeting performance outcome measures for the CDBG Program. Copies of the 2021 CAPER will also be available for examination and comment at the City of Brookhaven City Hall. Interested parties are invited to email comments on the CAPER to CDBG@BrookhavenGA.gov or call 404-637-0500 and request transfer to CDBG Administration. In-person or by mail written comments will also be accepted at City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road, Brookhaven, GA 30319. The required 15-day comment period will run through Sept.15. Submission to HUD is anticipated on or before Sept. 30. A public hearing will be held at the regularly scheduled Brookhaven City Council Meeting: Tuesday, Sept. 13 Brookhaven City Hall, 3rd floor 4362 Peachtree Rd NE Brookhaven, GA 30319 7 p.m.  Virtual attendance is available via link provided here on the day of the meeting: http://brookhavencityga.iqm2.com/Citizens/Default.aspx ROAD CLOSURES & TRAFFIC ALERTS Sylvan Circle Road Closure: Aug. 22-Sept. 9 A storm sewer repair at 1475 Sylvan Circle will require a road closure starting Monday, Aug. 22-Sept. 9 (weather permitting). More info here. Emergency Bridge/Road Closure on W. Nancy Creek Drive Effective immediately, the bridge near 1243 W. Nancy Creek Drive in Brookhaven is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. On Friday, July 1, GDOT engineers discovered severe structural issues with the bridge while conducting a routine inspection.  Click here for updates. COVID Care Georgia is now offering vaccinations and boosters for everyone ages 5+**** As part of Brookhaven’s ongoing commitment to the health and safety of its residents, a COVID testing and vaccination site is now open at Northeast Plaza, 3371 Buford Highway, in Brookhaven.  The new testing site, also staffed by COVID Care Georgia, will be open from 9 a.m.
