CITY OF BROOKHAVEN NEWS ‘Mondays With Madeleine’ virtual town hall to feature first-quarter updates The public is invited to join District 3 Councilwoman Madeleine Simmons for the March 2023 edition of her “Mondays With Madeleine” town hall. This month’s town hall will be held Monday, March 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. via video conference, and will be broadcast on Facebook Live on the City’s Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/BrookhavenGAgov.  “Please join me for first-quarter-of-the-year updates as well as a general discussion of District 3 issues,” said Councilwoman Simmons. Brookhaven introduces Phase 1B of the Peachtree Creek Greenway District 4 Councilman John Funny (fourth from left) was joined by officials from the City, Chamber of Commerce and PCG Inc. in cutting the ribbon on Phase 1B enhancements to the Peachtree Creek Greenway. Improvements include the installation of various amenities along three new trail spur paths. Brookhaven pitches in at Household Hazardous Waste event It was another successful Household Hazardous Waste Drive for the cities of Brookhaven, Chamblee, and Doraville! Thank you to all the residents who came out this weekend to recycle electronics, paint, chemicals, textiles, plastic, and styrofoam. A big thank you is also in order to our event partners and Chamblee High School volunteers for making this event a success. The Brookhaven City Hall will be located at the corner of Peachtree Road and North Druid Hills Road on the existing long-term MARTA parking lot. Click here for more information. Front Yard Tree Program takes root in Brookhaven Back by popular demand, Brookhaven is once again partnering with Trees Atlanta to sponsor the Front Yard Tree Program.  In this partnership, Trees Atlanta will plant up to 80 trees. Homeowners can choose one of five varieties of White oak, Overcup oak, Willow oak, River Birch and Sycamore, all between six and eight feet in height. Trees Atlanta will plant the tree and provide the initial mulching and watering and include a two-year replacement guarantee. Beginning immediately, residents can apply at www.treesatlanta.org/yardtree and select “Brookhaven,” while quantities last. Continuing last year’s promotion, there is no application fee for Brookhaven residents.  More info here.
