Admission is free. Also joining the lineup are local acts Eliot Bronson and Little Hopes. Band of Horses is the Saturday, March 25, headliner, while HANSON headlines on Sunday, March 26. Taking the stage Saturday are Don McLean, Deep Blue Something, and Eliot Bronson, while The Fray, offering a special acoustic performance, special guest All-4-One, Lissie, and Little Hopes take the stage on Sunday. Brookhaven celebrates Black History Month with Ambassador Andrew Young The City of Brookhaven celebrated Black History Month with a panel discussion featuring Ambassador Andrew Young and hosted by District 4 Councilman John Funny. The Morehouse College Glee Club Quartet also performed. Spotlight on the Parks Bond Program Since the Parks Bond was approved by voters in 2018, a lot of upgrades have already occurred in Brookhaven's Parks. Download the publication here. Front Yard Tree Program takes root in Brookhaven Back by popular demand, Brookhaven is once again partnering with Trees Atlanta to sponsor the Front Yard Tree Program. In this partnership, Trees Atlanta will plant up to 80 trees. Homeowners can choose one of five varieties of White oak, Overcup oak, Willow oak, River Birch and Sycamore, all between six and eight feet in height. Trees Atlanta will plant the tree and provide the initial mulching and watering and include a two-year replacement guarantee. Beginning immediately, residents can apply at www.treesatlanta.org/yardtree and select “Brookhaven,” while quantities last. Continuing last year’s promotion, there is no application fee for Brookhaven residents. More info here. UPCOMING CITY EVENTS & MEETINGS City Hall survey extended through February & virtual input meetings; City Hall website launched The City of Brookhaven is seeking public input on the look of its future City Hall. Residents are encouraged to take part in a survey to gauge their visual design preferences. Brookhaven Citizens' Police Academy accepting applications The next Brookhaven citizens' police academy is set to start on Wednesday, March 8, at 7 p.m. at the Brookhaven Police Department, 2665 Buford Hwy NE. CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL: MARCH 25-26 ROAD CLOSURES & TRAFFIC ALERTS Ashford Dunwoody road closure Feb. 24-28 The Ashford Dunwoody/Peachtree Road intersection is nearing completion! In order to finish the job, Ashford Dunwoody Road must be closed for the intersection connection work, scheduled for Feb. 24 - 28, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., as needed, and weather permitting. This work will allow traffic to switch over to the new Ashford Dunwoody Road at the Peachtree intersection on an asphalt binder course as now exists on the new Ashford Dunwoody Road.
