The road will be closed to vehicular and foot traffic during construction beginning Monday, April 25. The playground will remain open. Mayor Ernst addresses Compañeros Awards Luncheon Mayor John Ernst recently addressed the 33rd Compañeros Award Luncheon. The event was hosted by the Latin American Association, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary. Congratulations to all the 2022 awardees! Brookhaven Police Chief joins Chamber panel discussion Brookhaven Police Chief Gary Yandura joined his fellow police chiefs from Sandy Springs and Dunwoody in a Brookhaven/Sandy Springs Chamber of Commerce panel discussion that included topics such as new technology, trends in crime and safety, and police officer hiring and retention. Easter Egg hunts return to Brookhaven Parks After a two-year Coronavirus hiatus, Peter Rabbit returned to Brookhaven. On April 16, Brookhaven Parks & Recreation hosted its popular Easter Egg Scramble in Blackburn Park, and on April 9 it brought back the Eggstraordinary and the Dog Gone hunts in Lynwood and Blackburn parks.. ROAD CLOSURES & TRAFFIC ALERTS DeKalb Watershed replacing sewer lines in Drew Valley Road area DeKalb County Watershed will be inspecting and replacing sanitary sewer lines on Drew Valley Road and streets intersecting it -- Nesbitt, Poplar Springs, Ewing, Cortez Ln, Thompson Rd, Skyland Trl, Cove Circle, Wawona, and Briarwood Way -- through approximately June. Residents should expect traffic delays as DeKalb contractor Renee Group will be working in the middle of the roads. No roads will be closed and signs and flaggers will be present at all times. The latest updates on Brookhaven's paving progress Appalachee Drive, Cartecay Drive, Cove Circle, and Oaklawn Avenue are just some of the locations that Brookhaven is undertaking road repaving or reconstructions. APRIL 30th (SAT) 9:00-10:00am / Walk the Future Chamblee Segment Join the PCGI and fellow supporters for a tour of the proposed Peachtree Creek Greenway in Chamblee. A behind the scenes look at the approximately 1 mile segment near Century Center. You will have the opportunity to hear about the promising progress along the approximately 12 miles of the Greenway. Meet in the lobby of the Marriott Hotel Century Center. This is not a groomed or paved area. Appropriate footwear, including water resistant boots, bug spray, and clothing are recommended.
