Brookhaven News, Updates and Resources The Brookhaven Blast Brookhaven News, Updates and Resources CITY OF BROOKHAVEN NEWS Joan Jett and the Blackhearts to headline 2022 Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival The City of Brookhaven announces Joan Jett and the Blackhearts as the concert headliner for the 2022 Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival, taking place Saturday and Sunday, March 26-27, at Blackburn Park, 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road in Brookhaven. Admission is free. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will take the stage Saturday, March 26. Additional performers will be announced soon. COVIDCareGA, which operates the vaccination and testing site at Northeast Plaza in Brookhaven, is now hiring at all locations for traffic control to aid in the increased demand for testing. Pay is $16 an hour, and hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Email Skhan@covidcarega.com if interested in applying for a traffic control position. Be sure to include your phone number. The Brookhaven location offers rapid and PCR testing, boosters, and vaccines for adults and children every weekday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Wednesdays, and weekends from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Brookhaven site will be closed on New Year’s Day. Dresden Drive webpage updated; tentative project completion schedule below Based upon community feedback, Brookhaven is revamping the Dresden Intersection Analysis study, currently underway. The enhanced project scope will address revised development assumptions, multiple growth assumptions, and a review of potential bicycle facilities. We have updated the project website for this effort. The updated page includes the dates for the remainder of the project and some additional documents outlining the path forward. City Council renews sponsorship of Front Yard Tree Program Back by popular demand, Brookhaven is once again partnering with Trees Atlanta to sponsor the Front Yard Tree Program. In this partnership, Trees Atlanta will plant up to 40 trees (max. 2 per household) in the front yards of Brookhaven residents. Homeowners can choose one of six varieties of oak; Tupelo, River birch, Tulip poplar, American sycamore or Bald cypress, all between six and eight feet in height. Trees Atlanta will plant the tree and provide the initial mulching and watering and include a two-year replacement guarantee. More information here. ROAD CLOSURES & TRAFFIC ALERTS Ashford Dunwoody Road closure at Kadleston Way (near Publix), Monday, 1/24, 9 p.m.-2 a.m. Ashford Dunwoody Road will be closed Monday night, Jan. 24, from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., from Kadleston Way NE to the intersection of Johnson Ferry Road. Detour signage will be up, and officers will be present to direct traffic. Contractors will be installing lights on the pedestrian signal crosswalk signs and lights on the roadway for improved visibility when the signals are activated. Windsor Parkway to be closed to through traffic, Feb. 2-16 Due to emergency repairs to the drainage pipe under Windsor Parkway near Hermance Drive (1439 Windsor Pkwy), beginning Wednesday, Feb. 2, Windsor Parkway from Hermance Drive to Fala Place/Silver Lake Drive will be closed to through traffic to allow the
