The public is invited to join in for a conversation about Harts Mill Road issues. “I encourage everyone to come share your thoughts and concerns about Harts Mill Road and any other issues on your mind in District 1,” Jones said. Coffee and doughnuts will be served. The event will take place at Brookhaven City Hall, located at 4362 Peachtree Rd, Brookhaven, GA 30319. This week in Parks & Recreation Brookhaven pooches invited to cool off at two Doggy Dip Days Brookhaven Parks and Recreation Department invites pooches to make a splash this summer at its annual Doggy Dip Day. The event takes place at Murphey Candler Pool, located along Candler Lake W NE, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 10 and 11, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dog owners will only be allowed to wade into the pools up to their knees, and lifeguards will be present. Cost is $10 per dog for three-hour time slots. All dogs must be up-to-date on required shots and vaccinations. Payment may be made at pool with either cash or credit card. Small dogs (0-35 lbs.) and large dogs (35+ lbs.) will have separate times to enjoy the pool. More info here. Brookhaven Police Hot Pursuit raises funds for Shop With a Badge The Brookhaven Police Department's 9th annual Hot Pursuit 5K was a great success last weekend as it raised funds for the department's Shop With a Badge Program. The Brookhaven Police Foundation also donated $10,000 to the cause. Decorative Crosswalk Pilot Program RFQ now open The City of Brookhaven, in collaboration with the Arts and Culture Commission and Lynwood Park Civic Association, has released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to identify qualified artist(s) to create an innovative crosswalk design to be installed at the newly constructed roundabout located at the intersection of Windsor Parkway and Osborne Road in Lynwood Park. Public Review City of Brookhaven 2022 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report The City of Brookhaven will post the 2022 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Consolidated Annual Performance & Evaluation Report (CAPER) at https://www.brookhavenga.gov/commdev/page/community-development-block-grant-program Aug. 31. The CAPER provides annual information on program accomplishments in meeting performance outcome measures for the CDBG Program. Copies of the 2021 CAPER will also be available for examination and comment at the City of Brookhaven City Hall.
