The Brookhaven City Hall will be located at the corner of Peachtree Road and North Druid Hills Road on the existing long-term MARTA parking lot. Click here for more information. Front Yard Tree Program takes root in Brookhaven Back by popular demand, Brookhaven is once again partnering with Trees Atlanta to sponsor the Front Yard Tree Program.  In this partnership, Trees Atlanta will plant up to 80 trees. Homeowners can choose one of five varieties of White oak, Overcup oak, Willow oak, River Birch and Sycamore, all between six and eight feet in height. Trees Atlanta will plant the tree and provide the initial mulching and watering and include a two-year replacement guarantee. Beginning immediately, residents can apply at www.treesatlanta.org/yardtree and select “Brookhaven,” while quantities last. Continuing last year’s promotion, there is no application fee for Brookhaven residents.  More info here. ROAD CLOSURES & TRAFFIC ALERTS Kendrick Road speed hump replacement on March 18 & 20 On Saturday, March 18, contractors will be removing the speed hump located in front of 1230 Kendrick Road. The new speed hump will be installed Monday, March 20, at 1246 Kendrick Road. There may temporarily be obstruction to normal traffic flow during these days, including, but not limited to, temporary lane closures. Motorists are advised to avoid Kendrick Road on these days if possible. Coosawattee Drive road closure March 27-April 21 A storm sewer repair at/near 2395/2396 Coosawattee Drive will require a road closure starting Monday, March 27, through April 21, 2023 (weather permitting). Detours will be in place. Water main replacement: Brook Forest Drive DeKalb Watershed Management has a large watermain replacement project progressing in the area and expects to schedule work on Brook Forest Drive March 13-27. The project will require intermittent lane closures with flaggers present. Emergency Bridge/Road Closure on W. Nancy Creek Drive The bridge near 1243 W. Nancy Creek Drive in Brookhaven is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic due to severe structural issues and has been demolished. Click here for updates on construction of the new bridge.
