Brookhaven celebrates Cinco de Mayo The City of Brookhaven participated in Northeast Plaza's Cinco de Mayo festival with a booth giving away goodies as well as informing residents on how to get involved with the City. Click here for more photos. Scam Alert! The Brookhaven Police Department is aware of an ongoing scam involving scammers cloning the agency's phone number to attempt to scam residents out of money. The Brookhaven Police Department will not call and demand payment for unpaid fines or warrants over the phone. Please be aware of this scam and do not send funds over the phone. To have a copy mailed to your home, email News@BrookhavenGa.gov Brookhaven joins forces with Leadership Perimeter The City of Brookhaven has partnered with Leadership Perimeter to develop and inspire leaders to serve their communities for a lifetime. Applications for the Class of 2024 are now being accepted. The City of Brookhaven will initially provide tuition for five Brookhaven residents to participate in the 2024 Class of Leadership Perimeter. More information here. Front Yard Tree Program takes root in Brookhaven Back by popular demand, Brookhaven is once again partnering with Trees Atlanta to sponsor the Front Yard Tree Program. In this partnership, Trees Atlanta will plant up to 80 trees. Homeowners can choose one of five varieties of White oak, Overcup oak, Willow oak, River Birch and Sycamore, all between six and eight feet in height. Trees Atlanta will plant the tree and provide the initial mulching and watering and include a two-year replacement guarantee. Beginning immediately, residents can apply at www.treesatlanta.org/yardtree and select “Brookhaven,” while quantities last. Continuing last year’s promotion, there is no application fee for Brookhaven residents. More info here. Future Brookhaven City Hall project information The future Brookhaven City Hall will be a gathering space for conducting the people’s business, to celebrate as a community, exchange ideas, and serve as a focal point and NorthStar for the City of Brookhaven within the Atlanta metropolitan area. ROAD CLOSURES & TRAFFIC ALERTS MARTA parking lot repaving underway Access to a portion of Brookhaven station’s East Parking lot is limited to allow for a laydown/staging area for the repaving contractor as they prepare to repave the lots and for the construction of the City of Brookhaven City Hall. The North Entrance along Apple Valley will be closed to patrons. Patrons will utilize the south entrance on Apple Valley to access the lot on the station’s west side. Repaving will begin shortly thereafter and will continue for several months and the limited access will not affect any ADA parking at this time; however, ADA spots may be temporarily relocated as the project moves forward. The Covid Testing site will not be affected. Patrons should watch for directional signage, as access points and parking areas will shift as the work progresses. Front Lots (Peachtree Rd): Peachtree Driveway Entrance will remain open. Dresden Entrance will be closed. All services including ADA Parking, Taxi, Kiss & Ride, and Zip Car Service will be available in the Long-Term Parking Lot. Click here for updates. Emergency Bridge/Road Closure on W.
