Brookhaven News, Updates and Resources  The Brookhaven Blast Brookhaven News, Updates and Resources CITY OF BROOKHAVEN NEWS Brookhaven to hold public hearings for 2022 millage rate Residents are encouraged to attend upcoming public hearings for the 2022 millage rate. Anyone who wants to attend and or participate can do so in person or virtually via Zoom.  The meetings will be held Tuesday, June 14, at 7 p.m. and June 28 at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. at City Hall at 4362 Peachtree Road, Brookhaven. The Zoom link for the June 14 meeting is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82238081214 (webinar ID 822 3808 1214) and the June 28 meetings is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82511702139 (webinar ID 825 1170 2139). After the final public hearing, the millage rate will be formally adopted at the June 28, 2022, meeting at 7 p.m. More information here. Parks Bond News: Oversight Committee Meeting The next Parks Bond Oversight Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 22. The meeting will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Lynwood Park Recreation Center, 3360 Osborne Road. Updates will be provided on the Parks Bond projects. An overview of progress on the Lynwood Park splashpad project will also be discussed. City of Brookhaven pools open for the summer Keep cool this summer at one of the City of Brookhaven’s municipal pools or splash pad. The pools are located at: Murphey Candler Park, 1551 W, Nancy Creek Drive, and Briarwood Park, 2235 Briarwood Way NE. The splash pad is located at Ashford Park, 2980 Redding Road. The Lynwood Park pools is closed this summer as construction is underway on a new pool, pool house and splash pad. Details here. COVID-19 UPDATES & RESOURCES Brookhaven closings, cancellations and resources The City of Brookhaven has established a website listing Brookhaven closings, cancellations, testing sites, and resources relating to the COVID-19 pandemic at www.BrookhavenGA.gov/covid19 COVID-19 testing & vaccination site open in Northeast Plaza on Buford Highway ****VACCINES FOR KIDS NOW AVAILABLE! COVID Care Georgia is now offering vaccinations and boosters for everyone ages 5+**** As part of Brookhaven’s ongoing commitment to the health and safety of its residents, a COVID testing and vaccination site is now open at Northeast Plaza, 3371 Buford Highway, in Brookhaven.  The new testing site, also staffed by COVID Care Georgia, will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. every weekday except Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on weekends. The site can accommodate drive-up and walk-up customers and medical assistants on site can administer tests to people ages six months and older. The site is located near the movie theater in Northeast Plaza, and the testing is at no cost to the insured or uninsured.  More info here.
