To: Eric Long eric.long@brookhavenga.gov, Murray Nicol Murray.Nicol@brookhavenga.gov Eric and Murray,

Thank you for coming out in the cold weather to 2740 Grove Street on 1/7 to view the damage and impacts of the code violations from 2746 Grove Street, which was built beyond the scope of their approved plans and permits. e

Eric, you had mentioned in simple terms you busted 2746 for not constructing the extension per the approved plans. When did

COB discover this construction error?

e

Murray, do we have an ETA on when the rescue pups will be able to safely enjoy their backyard by correcting the fence

code violation of the unfinished 2740 fence side? As discussed, the two abutting properties (2752 Gove and 2733 Osborne) have finished fence sides, but 2740 still does not. Are code violations still ten days to remedy? If_so, this code violation equally

qualifies for the same remedy timeframe. We eagerly look forward to 2746 correcting their fence code violation and removing the protruding fence nails at the dog's eye level. Best regards,

Sarah

The field inspector discovered the work to be beyond the scope of the approved site plan during a site inspection to the property and required the permittee to submit a revision for review of the additional work discovered. | cannot speak to the work of the extension, as you term it, only that additional work was discovered which was not shown on the original site plan. Cc: Murray Nicol murray.nicol@brookhavenga.gov Thank you, Eric, for the quick response. Is a "site inspection" the same thing as a "building final inspection"?

Sarah,

The building final inspection is conducted by the building inspectors who inspect the structural aspects of permit, framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc. The site inspections focus on the land, the topography and the vegetation, and any exterior improvements not falling under the building inspections purview. There is required a building final as well as a site final to be passed before a certificate of occupancy can be issued and the permit closed. [Quoted text hidden]

Thank you for the clarification. Who was the site inspector? Who was the building inspector?

And the building inspector(s) did not discover what was built had surpassed the scope of the permitted plans, correct? [Quoted text hidden]

Murray Nicol is the site inspector who observed the additional work not shown on the site plan, however, the site is subject to be inspected in the future by a different one of our inspectors at the City’s discretion. Any of our inspectors will inspect for conformance to

the site plan as it has been approved at the time of the requested inspection.

The building inspectors are coordinated through the building department, so | don’t know which building inspector would be conducting the inspections for this permit.

You may inquire by contacting City Hall, 404-637-0500 and ask to be connected with the building department. [Quoted text hidden]

Thank you, Eric, for the additional details. | located the other name connecting the occurrences and dates. We look forward to hearing Murray's response to the second question from the beginning of this email:

| checked ,and Code Enforcement has already addressed the finish side of the fence ,and found no violation. | didn’t observe the protruding nails that you spoke about, but | will contact the fence owner and ask them to correct any protruding nails.

If You would like to send pictures of the nails or have me come and look again that would be fine.

Thank you, Murray Nicol

To: Murray Nicol Murray.Nicol@brookhavenga.gov, Eric Long eric.long@brookhavenga.gov Hi Murray, As we discussed on Friday in front of a guest at my home, first how 2746 was built beyond the scope of the permit and COB is aware of this, but we also addressed how Code enforcement did not apply code Sec. 27-955 equally and fairly to the 3 abutting properties.

Could you please explain why 1 property fence side (2740) does not follow the code for the finished side and the other two properties correctly follow the code Sec. 27-955?

As for nails: Code enforcement was sent pictures of the 2740 unfinished fence & nails via code ticket ID# 2395207 Nails Screenshot from ticket: https://prnt.sc/26c6g6x My email at that time stated that the mapping system in the Brookhaven connect was mislabeling the addresses when entering a ticket - screenshot of the email: https://prnt.sc/26c6gz1 but instead the ticket was labeled as a duplicate but the nails photo had been viewed and disregarded as code enforcement had mentioned_nails in all caps in the ticket: https://brookhavenga.citysourced.com/ servicerequests/2395202

We look forward to the entire side of the fence facing 2740 being correctly finished following code Sec. 27-955 and applied in the exact same and equal manner as the other abutting properties (2752 and 2733). Best regards, Sarah [Quoted text hidden]
